Synopsis
A musical immersion in the wonderful landscapes of the Athabasca Glacier in Jasper National Park seen through an indigenous lens.
This film was filmed in the context of the Nomad Videographer Project, for which the director (Thaïs Despont) travelled across Canada to help local businesses by producing videos for them. This promotional video for Ice Walks turned out to be more of a poetic tribute film to the glacier.
Director Statement
Introduced to the world of filmmaking through performing art festivals, she embarked on her career by collaborating with various classical music ensembles (such as Le Stagioni, Hemiolia, Dodéka, and Le Well Quartet).
With experience ranging from small-scale shoots to major productions (including feature films, TV series, and commercials), she possesses a deep understanding of the creative process.
In 2021, during the Nomad Videographer Project, she toured across Canada, creating over 10 promotional videos for local businesses in just 4 weeks.
Her works now lean towards a more documentary-style approach, characterized by a distinct aesthetic and her own delightful touch of humor.
