Director Statement

Karl Swingle has been working on film and television productions for over twenty years. With a broad technical and aesthetic skill set, he has created or contributed to an extensive list of award winning programming. With a reputation for being reliable, technically savvy, and comfortable in even the most extreme and demanding environments, Karl has built a career out of going the extra mile to ensure that every project he is involved with is realized to its fullest potential.​

Karl holds a MFA in Film from Columbia University.

Synopsis

A young Sioux woman from the Fort Peck Reservation in far northeastern Montana, a local history enthusiast, and an antiques weapons expert, work together to restore a Civil War era cannon and build a small museum exhibit to tell the story of the Battle of Camp Poplar River, a little known battle between the US Army and the last of the "Non-Treaty Sioux" on January 2nd, 1881.
