March 6-7, 2024    

A first-of-its-kind convening of climate and business leaders, innovators, storytellers, subject matter experts and unexpected new voices across sectors from the Flathead Valley, greater Montana and beyond. The inaugural 2-day Summit leveraged the proven rapid-prototyping methodology through facilitated acceleration labs customized for specific challenges NW Montana is facing as we advance climate resilience, adaptation and solution-making. With injections from Ignite Talks, keynote speakers, and input from Indigenous leaders, global and regional stakeholders, youth, community members and entrepreneurs will harness the collective wisdom in the room, catalyze new partnerships, unlock and accelerate promising solutions, explore new funding models and opportunities in the climate economy, and execute to transitioning to renewable energy and carbon neutrality strategies in the greater Flathead Valley.

Halladay Quist, daughter of Montana musician Rob Quist, began her musical journey at six. A multi-instrumentalist with a unique voice, she has performed with artists like Jewel and at major festivals, blending country, bluegrass, and blues in her music that resonates across the northwest.

20 Grand is a nine-piece funk, hip hop, psychedelic-Afrobeat orchestra from Whitefish, MT. They were recently voted "best band of 2024" by Whitefish Pilot reader's poll and have been selling out venues for over fifteen years with their woman-led blend of original and reimagined funk-forward grooves.

Her singles "Crazy" and “HOPE” (viral on TikTok) have earned her a spot on the charts, and her debut concept album, “Ten Years of Solitude,” received critical acclaim. Christian Wallowing Bull, an Indigenous singer-songwriter from Wyoming near the Wind River Reservation, is an enrolled member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe. He aims to represent his roots and bridge cultural perspectives through his music. Known for his powerful voice, Christian's debut album "Warrior" in 2020 marked his influential presence, captivating audiences with the ancestral power of his songs.

Sterling Drake

Roots Music from the American West!

Sterling Drake is a roots music songwriter whose journey spans from Florida’s Big Cypress to Montana’s mountains. Known for his honest storytelling and rich imagery, Sterling draws influence from legends like Willie Nelson and Lead Belly. In 2024, he won the Ameripolitan Award for ‘Male Honky Tonk Artist’ and is now working with conservation and mental health groups to support the ranching community.

Dustin Walter, also known as Mistukii Ksistukii (Mountain Beaver), is a member of the Ampskapii Pikunii (South Peigan) tribe. He holds a B.Sc. in Nursing, an M.A. in Educational Research, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary. His research focuses on integrating Indigenous healing practices into addiction treatment and wellness programs.

Shadow Devereaux, also known by his stage name Foreshadow, is a prominent Salish and Blackfeet hip hop artist, audio engineer, and advocate for indigenous youth. Hailing from the Flathead Indian Reservation, Shadow has spent over a decade honing his craft, merging his deep cultural roots with the rhythms and beats of modern hip hop. His music serves as a powerful voice for indigenous communities, blending themes of struggle, resilience, and positivity.

Climate Meme Competition: Join Josh Elliott and Aaron White from Climate Karen - Engaging participants to create memes around climate change and climate change solutions to ignite the subject in pop culture.

Sound Bathing (@The Malmquist Barn): A sound bath is stress-reducing and mood enhancing, full-body meditative experience where participants lie down and listen to highly immersive music and resonant sounds (singing bowls and other instruments) which create an echoing sound that ‘bathes’ away stress and aligns the head and heart into a positive tone. A 2020 meta-analysis concluded there was evidence that sound bathing could lead to reduction in distress, anxiety, depression and pain.
