The Inaugural Solutionist Summit convened leaders from Montana and beyond to further unlock climate change efforts and next step solutions across and between sectors. Harnessing the collective wisdom of the attendees to catalyze new partnerships, unlock and accelerate promising solutions, explore new models of funding and opportunities in the climate economy, and advance climate resilience, transition, and neutrality strategies in the Flathead Valley.

Government, business, community, research, venture funded start-ups, tribal nations, philanthropic foundations, and solutionists work to collectively spark new ideas and innovations, fuel partnerships, and co-identify pressing challenges, promising levers, and co-create next steps to advance resiliency, mitigation and solutions for Montana. Flathead climate leaders to join a gathering of 80 peer-nominated climate and business leaders, innovators, scientists, private foundations, growers, VC-funded entrepreneurs, storytellers, and new voices from across sectors in the Flathead Valley, greater Montana, and beyond.

Leaders joining us come from organizations, corporations and tribes including Neutral Dairy, Watershed, Blackfeet Nation, Hyundai Motor Company,  Indigikitchen, National Park Service, Confederated Tribes of Salish-Kootenai, Big Sky Resort, GeoShip, Nike Grind, Detroit Dirt. They have previously presented at SXSW, NPR’s On Being, TEDx, MIT, Stanford d.school, and featured in places like Vogue Magazine, New York Times and Wall Street Journal. 

Solutionist Summit Ignite Speakers + Keynotes

  • Pashon Murray Founder, Detroit Dirt

    Pashon the environmental entrepreneur, activist and educator has been working towards sustainable solutions and environmental justice for 18 years. Her advocacy moved to the national stage in 2008 and 2009 as Pashon lobbied for various climate initiatives in Washington D.C.; working with organizations like Sierra Club, Repower America and the National Wildlife Federation. In 2010 Pashon Co-founded Detroit Dirt, a revolutionary composting company that provides materials management diversion from landfills and food waste solutions. In 2017 the Detroit Dirt Foundation (DDF) was created and Culture of Carbon (C2) consultancy was established the following year. DDF and C2 focuses on curriculum development, education, energy, research and reducing carbon emissions. Pashon and her work with Detroit Dirt began receiving national attention and have been featured in Ads for Ford, Mastercard, Pabst, Shinola and Vice. Newsweek named the MIT Media Lab fellow one of its “13 Women in Business to Bet on” and the United Nations Foundation named her one of 10 women to watch in the world. Pashon is a recipient of the Martha Stewart American Made Awards, also selected as one of 30 entrepreneurs at the Obama Administration's first-ever Demo Day. Currently Pashon serves on the Verizon Wireless Climate Justice Advisory board and she was awarded the 2021 United Nations FAO North American Food Heroes.

    She has been interviewed on NPR’s “On Being” and featured in Vogue, EV commercials by Ford Motors, and presented at TED.

  • Mariah Gladstone Founder, Indigikitchen I

    Climate Engineer, TEDX speaker, Entrepreneur, and Artist raised in Northwest Montana. B.S. Environmental Engineering from Columbia University and M.S. from SUNY. Mariah returned home to the Blackfeet Nation, where she founded Indigikitchen, an online cooking show dedicated to revitalizing Indigenous food systems. Recognized as a Champion for Change by the Center for Native American Youth and a Culture of Health Leader by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Mariah Gladstone is a passionate advocate for Indigenous peoples' rights and ancestral knowledge.

  • Ann Radil

    Head of Carbon Reduction, Neutral Dairy, Formerly Nike Circular Economy

    A 5th generation rancher and climate scientist, Ann spearheads carbon reduction as the Head of Carbon Reduction at Neutral Dairy, the nation's first carbon-neutral food company available at stores like Whole Foods and Target. With over 15 years of experience at firms and corporations such as Nike and Coca-Cola, Ann has a robust background in climate change initiatives. She holds a graduate degree in climate change science and has made significant contributions to NASA's Earth Observing System Research Initiative. Ann has recently joined Watershed, a venture-funded startup with a groundbreaking enterprise climate platform where she continues her mission of helping institutions and companies rapidly reduce their carbon emissions. She has presented at places like SXSW.

As the Director of BD, IR and Marketing, I lead the execution of our fundraising and community development to accommodate millions of humans and crush the cost of living.

    I am also a Managing Director at ReGen Villages, a company that builds regenerative and resilient communities with integrated life support systems of food, water, health, energy, education, economic, transportation, and waste-to-resource management. Through the Village OS AI platform, we connect new and existing communities in smart bioregions, creating a borderless autonomous system to optimize and improve our lives and mitigate our challenges.

  • Dr. John Suh

    Vice President, Hyundai Motor Company and Founding Director, New Horizons Studio

    The Just Cause in my Infinite Game: That everyone has the freedom to safely go anywhere at any time under any circumstance and has reliable access to the transportation of their choice.

    John is leading an NHS team focused on in creating new vehicle platforms augmented by robotic technology. NHS seeks to advance Hyundai Motor Group’s vision of Progress for Humanity by developing solutions that allow anyone to travel safely anywhere. NHS’ current focus is the development of ultimate mobility vehicles(UMV), UMVs can serve a broad range of applications including, but not limited to public safety, natural resource management, military applications, surveying, and space resource development. In 2017, John created Hyundai CRADLE (Center for Robotic-Augmented Design in Living Experiences) and established the Silicon Valley office. CRADLE combined corporate venture capital operations with open innovation programs in multiple areas of technology impacting HMG’s automotive businesses. He has also worked at the Palo Alto Research Center (now part of SRI) and General Motors Company.

  • Jerry Tinianow | West Urb

    Jerry Tinianow operates Western Urban Sustainability Advisors. WestUrb (westurb.com) assists local governments in creating and improving sustainability and climate action policies, plans and programs. Jerry’s work at WestUrb reflects the successes he achieved as Denver’s first Chief Sustainability Officer (2012-19). Under his leadership Denver won Platinum-level certification in the U.S. Green BuildingCouncil’s LEED for Cities program. Denver met its ambitious 2020 goal for community greenhouse gas reduction in 2018 – two years ahead of schedule. Denver’s record in mitigating climate change won it a place on the “A List” of top-performing cities issued by the international climate action organization CDP.

    Jerry previously served as a national officer of both the Sierra Club and the National Audubon Society,and directed the Center for Energy and Environment at the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission. As Audubon’s executive director in Ohio, he conducted the largest capital campaign in Audubon’s history and developed the nation’s most urban nature education center, the LEED-Gold “Grange Insurance Audubon Center.” The Sierra Club designated him a national “Environmental Hero” during its centennial celebration. Jerry also served on the Global Executive Committee of ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability, a group of over 2,500 local and regional governments that collaborate on promoting sustainable urban development.

    Jerry received his undergraduate and law degrees from George Washington University. He practiced law as a commercial trial attorney for over 20 years and was a partner in two large Ohio law firms. He was the 2018 winner of the Wirth Chair Sustainability Award, given by the University of Colorado in recognition of his climate action planning work.

  • Holly Truitt | Holly J. Truitt Consulting | Hatch Studios

    Holly Truitt is a designer and facilitator who helps organizations catalyze community-based change. With more than 20 years of experience guiding public and private organizations through uncharted transformations, Holly is a nationally respected author, researcher, and presenter.

  • Anderson Rosenthal Founder | Project Winterland

    After an eighteen year career as a commercial producer serving brands like Nike, Alaska Airlines, Mercedes Benz, Kraft, the NBA, Microsoft, CocaCola and others, Rosenthal felt guided to listen more closely to what was keeping her awake at night. The climate crisis and other humanitarian issues led her to launch Project Winterland,  a nonprofit rooted in climate solutions and equity. A fourth generation Montanan, Rosenthal returned to her deep roots in the Flathead to do purpose-fueled work to honor the natural world and bring amplified awareness to the urgent need to protect it. Anderson has served in leadership roles on numerous nonprofit committees and boards, with a focus on the environment and social justice, including the board of Common Ground, The PA Governing Board of Princeton Day School and The Princeton Arts Council.

  • Yarrow Kraner | Founder, Hatch + H360.ai

    Aspen Institute Fellow, RSA Fellow, and named 2015 top 100 creatives in the U.S. by Origins. He is a pioneer of social networking and has been building communities for twenty years. He’s directed projects with Richard Branson, The Rock, P Diddy, and more. In 1999, Yarrow created an online network – The Hero Project, which grew to 1.5 Million users, acquired by FOX. In 2004, Yarrow founded HATCH, connecting global influencers to accelerate solutions for the UN’s SDGs. In 2016 Yarrow founded H360.ai, an impact collaboration acceleration app.

  • Jared Silverman | COO , HATCH Studios

    Jared works to educate, accelerate, and invest in entrepreneurs who are creating solutions to social and environmental problems. Jared’s role involves developing and implementing strategies to collaborate with individuals, corporations and foundations to scale the impact of HATCH globally. Also an Instructor at Prescott College, Jared teaches courses in Ecopsychology. As a researcher for the Gwydion Fund, Jared works to connect people with the natural world.

    Williams is a Forbes' Next1000, believes in the transformative power of storytelling. In 2013, she founded AudPop.com, a video entertainment platform connecting filmmakers with opportunities to make a positive impact. AudPop boasts a network of over 80,000 global filmmakers, featuring 14,000 short films, and has granted over $10 million to diverse filmmakers worldwide, reaching 35 million fans and followers. Williams' visionary company, AudPop, has gained recognition from prestigious publications like Entrepreneur, Forbes, and NY Times for its innovative role in bridging filmmakers and brands.

  • Lauren Minis | | Director, Regeneration Pollination & Community Development Director of CommunityFinders

    Lauren has been engaged in community building and sustainability programming for many years and works to connect, inspire and engage people in sustainability and regenerative living. Since 2020, she has been running Regeneration Pollination which hosts online networking events connecting people around the world engaged in regeneration and allied movements. She is also the Community Development Director of CommnityFinders, an online support network for those committed to living in intentional communities. Lauren has co-organized several Northern California Permaculture Convergences and Building Resilient Communities Convergences, and also co-founded a sustainable living and education center in Oakland called PLACE for Sustainable Living. Lauren is a BioLeadership Fellow and an RSA Fellow.
